Martin S. Butcher, Esq., has extensive experience handling a wide range of matters throughout the Hudson Valley.

Martin obtained his law degree at the University of Westminster, located on Regent Street in London, where he began developing the research and analytic skills that he now brings to bear for the benefit of his clients.

Having moved to the Hudson Valley in 2004, Martin first joined the firm of Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., before moving to the firm of Montalbano, Condon & Frank, P.C., both leading law firms in Rockland County. From there, martin moved to the firm of Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, before opening his own law firm in the Summer of 2021.

Throughout his career, Martin has focused on family and matrimonial law, residential real estate transactions and estate planning. Martin has successfully tried numerous complex cases involving a range of issues including child custody, equitable distribution, support, family offenses, and enforcement of existing agreements and Orders. Martin has successfully pursued and defended several appeals before the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals.

Martin approaches every case with a calm demeanor, pays close attention to the details, and fights for his clients every step of the way. Martin seeks to provide a reassuring and stabilizing presence at what can be a very chaotic time in the lives of his clients. He insists on calls and emails being returned in a timely manner, ensures that his clients are kept informed of the progress in their cases, seeks ways to speed up his cases, all while working as efficiently as possible to reduce the fees incurred by his clients.

Martin is admitted to practice in the State of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Rockland County Bar Association. He has received “preeminent” peer rating for the highest level of professional excellence through Martindale-Hubbell. He serves on the board of directors for the Legal Aid Society and Hudson Valley Honor Flight. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Rockland County Bar Association, and was also the chair of the Family Law Committee for the RCBA before he moved his practice to Orange County. Martin is also a member of the BNI Rainmakers Group based in Goshen, New York.
